Sunday 13 April at 2 – 4 pm

Please come to a public drop-in session to discuss the possible sites that might accommodate new housing in the village. This event is focused on assessing the potential of the land around the village; it isn’t about coming to a view about what should be developed.

As yet, no decisions have been made by B&NES about how many houses will be built or where. But gathering views and knowledge about possible sites gives us an opportunity to influence their thinking now and to make residents’ preferences part of the planning process.

Our independent planning consultants (not from B&NES) have helped to assess each currently available and viable site, and they will be coming to explain the pros and cons of each one. We now need your input on this, so that we can accurately reflect village opinion, preferences, and local knowledge. This is all part of developing the Neighbourhood Plan, which can give us longer-term protection with regards to planning.

We acknowledge the timing isn’t perfect, but it is the best time and date we could find when people are not at work, when the village hall is available, and our consultants are available. (And they don’t normally work on Sundays either!) This is our best chance to discuss the options with knowledgeable planning consultants who have assessed each possible site in detail. So please do take advantage of their time and expertise.
