The Parish Council is seeking 2 villages who would like to represent local residents and helps make decisions on community issues. Responsibilities include help manage local services, influencing planning decisions, improving village amenities, and acting as a link between the community and B&NES.
The village survey is now live for residents to have their say, to represent and help protect the needs of Farrington Gurney to construct a Village Local Plan for submission to B&NES. This forms an integral part of the larger Local Plan for housing, infrastructure and employment for years to come.
The Somer Valley Links (SVL) project aims to improve travel between Midsomer Norton, Radstock and Bath via the A367, Bristol via the A37, and the A362 link road between them, through better bus infrastructure and enabling more walking, wheeling and cycling.
Housing Plans for Farrington Gurney could see an increase Plans for new housing have taken a turn. While BANES’ initial proposal for 500 new homes in the village has been withdrawn, a new mandate from central government has more than doubled housing targets.
