Councillor

Sally Bown

Born and raised in a farming environment, Sally’s parents and grandparents had farmed in the village for many years as Duchy tenants. After attending the village primary school and Midsomer Norton Grammar school, she qualified as a Registered Mental Nurse, and the next thirty years were spent working in the NHS in a range of mental health nursing areas in inpatient and community settings.

On retirement and having returned to the village, Sally has been involved in various voluntary roles, including many years with the Royal Osteoporosis Society and for the last twenty years she has been a Parish Councillor taking on a variety of roles including footpath representative for over ten years and currently her special interest is health issues. Family, travel, walking( though not so far these days), reading, and the Methodist Church keep her active in and around the village.
